Smoked a shorty I rolled yesterday (the batch was 6.5", this one only made it to 5.5"). Buck-fifty worth of tobacco and it tastes like a ten-dollar boutique job.

Ec. Mad wrapper
Dom binder
1 habano seco
1/2 corojo seco
1/2 corojo viso
1/2 Dominican ligero
that looks tasty and the blend sounds mellow and deep flavored (smooth with cocoa notes?)

1 Piloto Seco
Dom. Ligero binder

That sounds interesting and quite large. What size did you end up with? I haven't used anything with much sweetness along with San Andres. Very curious about it. #12

#12 it comes out to a large 52 RG I have found that San Andres matches up with sweetness very well.

last night we went to wifes relatives house . Picked up the required alcohol as usual and picked up a Arturo Fuente -usually one of my favorites. First stick I've had from a store in over a year. I noticed I like my own stuff better.

Between what I've grown, and WLT's tobacco, I just don't buy cigars anymore for the same reason.

2015 SWARR straight out of the kiln after drying. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
It still smells like a fruity bread .. similar to post kilning but not as pronounced and expected it to be harsh.

Hey Buck. I don't have any experience with Swarr but I'm looking for new cigar varieties to grow next year. Can you tell me what to expect with this leaf in production and flavor profile? Maybe a comparison to something more common. Thanks #12

After a brief discussion of organic tobacco, I purchased the Plasencia Organic Nesticos, which is a small cigar with about a 36 ring gauge. On most of the reviews of that brand, they describe the cigars on the mild to medium side, but the Nesticos have a bit more punch to them. Kind of remind me of the cuban Quinteros londres (I believe that is the same gauge if I am not mistaken). Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised because I figured that the only thing these would have going for them is the fact that they are certified organic, but they had nice flavor and strength. These will be my new small cigar. When I can/will afford them I want to try their robusto size which gets good reviews. I still want to know the truth about how most cigar tobacco is produced, some say it is already organic, others say not. These are certified organic, so I know there is no chemicals in them. I wish I had the place to grow my own for my own cigars, and maybe I can sometime obtain some member's tobacco that is organically grown, but until then these will do nicely. I may buy some of the organic burley from WLT and blend that into some of my cigars just to see what it does.

i rolled about 10 of these back in august, and put them away. i never really liked the first one it was very black peppery and didn't taste good when it was on fire...but i really liked the unlit aroma.
i have been using them as chew toys in my truck, but never lighting them.

so i was down to my last one, and pulled it out on about wednesday. it had totally changed, the cold draw was like pure cocoa. i toyed with it for the rest of the week and today i cut the chewed end of and lit it up. Unbelievably smooth and tasty. it had everything going on from chocolate and coffee giving way to a smooth creamy earth. I got so enthusiastic the nic hit me pretty hard about halfway and i had to slow right down.
it kept burning and the flavour built to a satisfying crescendo...i never got to the nub, there was no need. once i got to the last 25% i was done. totally satisfied.

seems like a fairly simple mix. it just needed about 3 months and it all came together.

I smoked a cigar that was 3 kilned Corojo viso, and 2 Criollo 98 viso with San Andreas wrapper as binder and wrapper.

It wasn't very good. It tasted like air, basically, which brings me to a question, because the pipe I smoked after, which was a homemade English blend with some cube cut homemade cavendish mixed in, also didn't taste like much. The question is, would the Chinese food I had for dinner affect my taste buds? MSG?
