I tried the 5 parts Virginia Red, with 3 parts Dark Air Cured. The dark air cured, seems to balance out the Virginia's acidity, very well. It becomes a pleasant flavourful, and 'tame' smoke.
Thanks for the recommendation, Bob.

Smoking WLT Dark Fired and Dark Air Cured together, has made me wonder about the ph in the smoke from the dark fired. I get the most pleasant smoke from a blend of roughly 3 parts dark air cured, with 4 parts dark fired. I find the smoke quite strong but easy to tolerate, and easy on the mouth. I love the flavour of these two together, in these proportions. Is the smoke from the dark fired then, nearly as acidic as the smoke from the Red Virginia?

Looked across the street and saw a little store selling tobacco products. So on a whim I checked out Mader’s and Lo and behold he had a nice selection of pipes. I found a nice Stanwell for a reasonable price and a pouch of Brigham tobacco.if you are Canadian enough you might appreciate the lyrics I made up to a classic Canadian song.

I've got some WLT St James Perique, unfurled and drying out. I'm going to mix it 50/50 with the WLT dark fired, for a small batch. It may end up with a close to neutral pH. I expect the mix to be flavourful and strong. I'm looking forward to my morning smoke, tomorrow.

Lucy Crale raises and point her pistol to that bitch Elsa Greer, cocks the hammer but Hercule Poirot convince her to don't shoot and give him the pistol.

The pistol has the hammer down although Lucy never did it by herself on that scene, a little director's mistake.

Hercule Poirot - Death on the Nile

On the first scene the shooter's hand is barely visible from the curtain, on the repeat of the scene the hand is forward and the Madam (the victim) dropped down in a different way, one of the director's mistakes.

There was a pipe smoker on that cruise boat, real not ''just for show".

Hello everyone. Very nice pipe Bob! For me, my new blend "Crony Vandal Tasteful" in a Hardcastle: 25% havana air cured 15% cavendish virginia 25% virginia flue cured 17% kurmovgrad sun cured 18% latakia. I liked it, this blend reveals all its flavor from the second third of the smoking.

A couple of weeks ago I met a Haligonian at the SS Atlantic Interpretation Centre who showed me his huge collection of clay pipes that he found while diving in the Halifax Harbour and in the Northwest Arm. While in Annapolis Royal I noticed the ruins of the wharf and figured it too must be littered with clays. The Annapolis Valley is stunning this time of year.

We were just a little early for the fall colours. There had been little or no frost yet when were there in early oct. there was some nice colour in some of the higher country and it was certainly a nice drive through the Annapolis valley. From what I’ve read and heard about the clay pipes is that it would have been common practice to discard your broken, (as they so often are) clay pipes off the pier or bridge. Halifax harbour would have been a real great spot for hard smoking sailors to discard clay pipes in days of yore.
