i firmly believe the reason they have jumped so much since i put them out,,,

is the chicken-manure/sawdust mixture i have tilled in the ground,

i believe i could bury a dead man out there, and he would come back to life,

You'd need steve2md's zombie shooter from his old avatar.

Chicken, you're gonna need a bucket truck to top those plants and a chainsaw to cut 'em down. Sucker control is going to be time consuming. Have you started raising the roof on your shed yet? Times a'wastin my friend.

Dammit Chicken, don't you know that chickens carry Salmonella bacteria...NEVER PUT CHICKENS IN THE TOBACCO PEN...or is it never put tobacco in the chicken pen???

And re-usable grocery bags carry the Norovirus, DO NOT put your chickens or tobacco in those ;)

Chicken, your plot looks amazing, I still haven't got anything in yet, the weather is hovering around 50-75 and I just don't feel safe doing it yet. I'm sure if it was 60 it'd be fine, in the growing area in the basement it's 55 so I know they would do fine, I just don't want wind or rain washing out my plants!

Good looking chickens too...chicken. I grew up with chickens and haven't seen young ones like that in quite a few years!

YouTube "America story of us" and look at the history of tobacco. Your patch looks just like the early ones in James town, really quite beautiful!

Something fishy is going on down in Florida 'cause GRIN and Nicotania Project say tobaccy plants ain't supposed to grow that high so fast, so good and so beautiful. Plus, you ain't supposed to need to fence in your tobaccy patch.

that thuricide hpc

is amazing stuff, it's specially formulated just for caterpillars, and is full of B.T. the main ingrediant needed to kill these buggers dead<

im gonna make a bean trellace today,,and when the sun sets i'll poision the leaves,, they aint bad right now, but if i get a jump , and keep on top of them,,, perhaps i can not only have a good crop, but some beautiful non-holy leaves,

Where do you get it from? I would be interested in trying some stuff other than soap water this year haha.

I'm making a cuc trellis today as well, get here installed before I even get the plants in the ground...oh well

You can get BT (Thuricide) just about anywhere these days. Home Depot, Lowes. Just google BT for plants and you'll prbably get hundreds of hits. It comes in a powder or liquid. I recommend the liquid.

Haha thanks for the tip. We deal with that issue alot where I work, it's amazing what certain chemicals (especially powders) will do to a sprayer. We've seen certain tanks even that get a build up of 1/16" of skin inside.

FYI, if you ever look into making a bigger sprayer, I'm designing a portable boom for aphid control/fertilizing/watering/sucker control etc. Can be used with any kind of sprayer set up, but wouldn't be useful for anybody with more than a hobby farmer
