I think, there's no need to lock on little differences of different alphabets. For example most of Turkish varieties have different letters which are not existent in your alphabet, like İzmir Özbaş. LOL. But I think writing it as Izmir Ozbas is clear for everybody.

Those seedlings didn't get trimmed. They're not really that uniform. They're just spaced really close, about 3" (76mm).
Criollo Salteño is the correct word. Writing it without the tilde alters the meaning. The underlying problem for most varietal names sourced from GRIN is that the ancient ARS-GRIN database is not compatible with diacritical marks or non-english orthography (doesn't use unicode). So this amplifies the misspellings. At some point in the near future, we will have to clean up all the names.

Agreed. Well said. Is their any chance that when completed it will be any better accepted than the current list? I seems to me there are people with vested interests in NOT having a clear consistent naming system.

Yes, we should clean up all the names in FTT list but it's impossible to help members (or others) for writing them in the correct way. This is what I was talking about. It's very hard to write some variety names for all people (e.g. Criollo Salteño, Karabağlar, Taşova, İzmir Özbaş, etc...).

There may be another way. I noticed they sell stickers to go over your letters on your keyboard, so there may be an add on program or something that you just activate when you need it. Just guessing.

If that's what you want it can be changed in a settings menu. I'm only familiar with windows os, it's in control panel somewhere. You change the language of your keyboard. That way you can use other characters using the shift and alt. keys.

You could use a hot key program I would think. I want to set up the degrees ferinheight one myself.
Sean you could try a cut and paste from this site http://turkish.typeit.org/. If you really want to type in turkish you could always change the windows language in control panel. But then you would have to speak and read Turkish. There are many ways to get a signature, ie:Ŝ€Äηℤ Just find the symbol that you want in all the different languages and type it and then cut and paste. not sure if this helps ℝυζζ
