I only add extra glue near the middle cut point. I guess there's no reason not to glue the whole thing tho.
Yeah, I had issues with unraveling and air leaks on the one side when cutting them in half (which I usually do). I only have a centimeter or two of overlap on the wrap because the fire cured stuff is so thick and that's the only way I can get them to burn straight out of the humidor... plus it makes them shiny, haha

I've got heavy rain, flood warnings (flash and areal) and a tornado watch right now. But there is little wind. So I can just sit out on my front porch and enjoy a rich, full-bodied smoke, while watching the dark clouds roil past.

Some of the WLT CV Black ligero filler is relatively thin-ish and stretchy. By using the full width of a half-leaf, instead of a decorative strip of wrapper, this half-leaf suffices as both wrapper and binder, all by itself. My filler of the moment is upper-mid-stalk Corojo 99 plus a half leaf of WLT Pennsylvania Broadleaf ligero.

EDIT: As I finished posting this (still only 1/3 of the way through my cigar), the sun came out. Maybe Fred likes cigars.

I made these cigars and filled this box as a gift to a friend who's let me use 9-5 working space at his social club and cigar bar for the last 9 months. (@blackirissocialclub and @blackisiriscigarclub on instagram) he even let me pay part of my rent by smoking cigars from the humidor, what a guy... These are all newspaper rolls at various sizes. I didn't record the blend info, just freestyle by what I thought he might like. Some have 2 fillers, some have 6. Nicaragua Condega Seco, Cibao Valley Rene Seco, Cibao Valley Rene Viso, Peru Seco, Peru Ligero, T-13 Dominican Criollo, Bobalu binder and wrapper (he let me buy his tobacco since I purchased his rolling course)

I kept and smoked that last one, it was too pretty to cut down, and delicious it was.

Cigar ash is almost entirely composed of the minerals that remain after combustion of the plant material. So the pink hue of the wrapper ash reflects the soil minerals of the field in which it was grown. The color of wrapper ash sometimes may reflect the combustion temperature, with whiter suggesting a higher temperature.

I've had a change in schedule. Now I spend every third week in town in a shared studio apartment.
Today I had a little free time, so I broke out the traveling setup and made some refreshments. Not as good as when at home, but I am thinking they will do just fine.20210821_203301.jpg
