This began as long filler scraps, wrapped in home-grown Corojo 99. The wrapper (no binder) popped. So, on top of my now popped Corojo 99 binder, I applied a leaf sent to me by
@skychaser. [Thank you!] It is "Pieate Cuban" (which, according to my secret decoder ring, is actually grown from Piloto Cubano seed submitted to the FTT seed bank with the illegible label of "Pieate Cuban"). I subsequently kilned the leaf. The "Pieate" leaf morphology, size, texture and aroma are unmistakably Piloto Cubano.
[I'll be planting some side-by-side with my own Piloto Cubano in 2022, for comparison. It may be Piloto Cubano from a separate area of the Caribbean--or not.]
Since this wrapper was grown at a higher latitude than my own Piloto Cubano, it is milder.
