First try and far far away ...

Imprecise taper, cap ... not capping. Even with mold it's not a straight design. Anyway I'm going on
imperfecto.jpg

Using the 'S' approach from @webmost. I've also seen some video where the roller does not use anything than tension to perfectly wrap this guys. But I think it's a great knowledge there in.

Need some @MarcL inspiration :)
Half Piloto wrapped and half Sumatra. Same filler. If not THAT beauty, aroma is great.

Wow, love it! I was just admiring a Black Label Nocturn Perfecto and was wondering about wrapping one and boom I see you did a nice job right here. How do they draw?

Wrapped this up with some of this years WLT sale, thank you Don and crew at WLT!

Filler is all corojo, seco viso and ligero, bound with Nicaraguan habano seco.
The wrapper is Ecuador Maduro wrapper.
Probably the prettiest cigar I've ever made! It'll be ash by the end of the day but looks nice for now...

This began as long filler scraps, wrapped in home-grown Corojo 99. The wrapper (no binder) popped. So, on top of my now popped Corojo 99 binder, I applied a leaf sent to me by @skychaser. [Thank you!] It is "Pieate Cuban" (which, according to my secret decoder ring, is actually grown from Piloto Cubano seed submitted to the FTT seed bank with the illegible label of "Pieate Cuban"). I subsequently kilned the leaf. The "Pieate" leaf morphology, size, texture and aroma are unmistakably Piloto Cubano. [I'll be planting some side-by-side with my own Piloto Cubano in 2022, for comparison. It may be Piloto Cubano from a separate area of the Caribbean--or not.]

Since this wrapper was grown at a higher latitude than my own Piloto Cubano, it is milder.

Finally... from this year's harvest I have rolled my first two cigars. They are not perfect now they must dry and I expect a great smoke.
For filler and binder i used home grown Criollo 98 leaves, for wrapper a nice leaves of Connecticut shade. All of this process from seeds to cigar rolled i learned everything from you, thanks to this generous community.

Tonight's wrapping.. kinda like presents. And play time, with a barber pole
These are all Cuban sandwich filler. Wrappers vary with Habano 92, Ecuadorian, and the Connecticut shade for the stripes with some Habano help.

Better wrapping here, too veiny the leaf :( ... Cap review is also in order
re_IMG_20211207_190517.jpg

One of the best performances on these Perfectos. Biggest contribution is from the inner of the glass

It ain't pretty, but it's 100% homegrown 2021 Corojo 99. The ring gauge got away from me and grew too big for my cutter so I had to hack it down with a knife.
It wanted to smoke a little too hot as the weather outside is insanely dry, but when I paced myself the flavour was excellent. If you're planning next season's grow, believe the hype!
