Had some fun testing out the molds picked up from WLT!

A before and after. I will say that overall, an area of improvement will be the spongy head in the round head molds. The torpedo turned out just right! I let them sit overnight to dry up a bit. It was fun bunching that 60 ring gauge! I felt like a chef adding a little bit of this and that. It definitely takes more filler than I initially anticipated, but that’s ok! Live and learn! Not to mention, it got my thought juices going as to how a larger ring gauge could allow for some more complexity in filler choices that I have previously not have thought about. I think I’ll focus on the round head 52 ring gauge for the time being...

*Fingers crossed*

Time to set the timer to rest em up for a little bit.

A little before and after.

Some super bowl sticks for this weekend. Kept the filler and wrapper the same and made 2 of each with a specific binder. 5 different binders total.

Wrapper is the Brazil CT Shade 2013. Suuuuuper thin but it is fun to work with. The smells of aged leather and a sweet mustiness. Reminds me of a well aged Paul Garmirian Gourmet Series. Excited to try!

It has been way too cold to smoke here but I thought I’d share what I’ve been doing over the last week or so. The first is a long and rough long filler wrapped in San Andres. I was trying to keep myself honest in how smokable my cigars are rolled. I’ll share the results when I get the chance.
The second is jus a basic short filler scrap jobbie. Bound with Ecuador corona and wrapped in Ecuador Cameroon.
The third one I used what @deluxestogie aptly calls “long scrap” to make a cheroot using dark fronto as the wrapper-binder. I haven’t a clue what the filler actually is, but I’m hoping the fronto burns nicer than the the rather thick Kentucky/Tennessee fire cured I’ve been using thus far. @FmGrowit kindly provided me with samples of the ‘dark fronto’ with my last order from WLT, so I am pleased that I don’t have to invest a lot into this experiment.
