Really dig the cigar shape you roll.
Thanks! The shape is really very easy, when you aren't trying to comply with exact dimensions and stuff, and fit into a mold. In the factories, only the best rollers make figurados. On the DIY bench, I find that you can just DO it. I will do a youtube one of these days. You have to cut your wrapper in an "S" shape because with the taper, at and near the ends the cigar takes a curve when rolling it. Just don't cut the head or foot and you have the filler there that you can work with, without even trying. You can add a piece or two of ligero right in the center, torn very short, to bulk out the middle if you want the Rock Bottom cartoon thug look. Me, I bunch on the machine. Sometimes I will hand roll a second binder leaf with the S curve. It is easiest to just cut the near side curve first, and roll it on out until you get near the head end, then cut the other curve. Using this second binder to shape the bundle does make it easier to apply the wrapper, but you can also just use the single binder and shape the cigar with the S cut wrapper. I usually cut a semicircle out of leftover wrapper about 2" diameter, to reinforce the head. I don't worry about matching the color or anything like that.Really dig the cigar shape you roll.
I'm kinda pissed at both you guys. I have just spent 3 hours watching youtubes and no end in sight! Seriously, I learned a few tricks and some interesting facts. And then there's our entire collection of cigar rolling videos:

Nice. I eventually roll all my scraps except stems. Stems and butts I save to boil down into organic insecticide for my vegetables. I have quite enjoyed most of my scrap fillered cigars. Quality-wise, there is a big difference between scraps, which can be arranged in a bunch just like long filler, and chopped filler like in Kwik-E-Mart cheapos.Result: absolute perfect draw, excellent medium flavor without being too much. I'm getting orange, red oak, and allspice. Just right for this morning. Of course, I have no idea what's in it, but I used to throw these scraps away: a little dona
