First ever roll from a WLT Oscaro y Rico kit. Hoping that by the time I get through this kit I’ll be able to roll well enough for when my crop is done. It may take a couple more kits though. Now comes the part where all that hard work goes up in smoke.
Great leaf kit from WLT. That was my first kit I purchased and makes a really good stick. It looks like you’re on a good track with the rolling. Looks good!

Great looking first cigar, @GusAvocado. It took me about 10 cigars to get the draw right, and maybe 30 to make mine somewhat presentable. [Now, after having rolled many thousands of cigars, my cigars remain only somewhat presentable.]

No style points will be awarded here. This is kind of fun. Posted a pic on social media and probably sold 3 kits for WLT. Not an expert on leaf yet, but to an amateur eye and nose it sure seemed first rate. The unlit draw on this is as good or better than the sticks I buy.

I chickened out and used to binders. It would’ve been better with only one binder.image.jpg

Nice suggestion! May have to try that wrapper on the next batch of em. Too many blends to get to, too little time! I do have a couple blends you shared with me on the list as well. Once I can get to em and test, I’ll send you some feedback brother!
And Likewise, I still have to try your take on the Late Hour knockoff and The wannabe.

Looking good! Trying them out on the draw and flavors definitely helps. Keep it up!

A few for Spring. A couple of these have Rene seco and viso, the others are piloto cubano seco, Nic. Condega viso, and all have a splash of Peru ligero for filler. Single Sumatra binder for each (miraculously including the imperfecto) with either corojo oscuro or Cameroon wrapper.

Home grown Corojo seco with a single strip of the darkest homegrown Bahia for ligero. The wrapper is Nicaraguan Rosado from WLT. I believe my previous combustion problems were construction related, did not attempt a double binder on this one.

Here goes nothing..

Using the WLT Azucarado Oscuro kit

Used 4 filler leaves.. half a binder (had to moisten it a bit) . Makeshift PVC mold (left a side seam since the cigar went fatter than mold).. This will be ring size close to 54 or so since i used a 20 mm pvc pipe as a mold. The wrapper is in a plastic bag now getting moist/wet.. Hopefully it will look better once wrapped.. Draw is seeming fine so far..

Almost got it .. but at the last moment, the wrapper tore while i was doing (trying to atleast) the piggytail at the head. Decided to cut off the top and made it into a cheroot. Anyway going to smoke it once it dries up a bit..

From a learning angle, is there a way to recover from here and still do the cap ?

Nice looking cigar. I have never used a pvc pipe mold but I have seen people using them. They would insert the cigar in the mold with a semi-squeeze for a couple of hours, then rotate the cigar 90 degrees for a final squeeze and left for awhile. It appeared easier to insert the second time and left less noticable seams. I can't speak to the cap, I just do pigtails then clip that end off anyway. My cigars draw well but look awful.
