Oscuro wrapper for the crapper!...like trying to unfold cheap wet toilet paper without ripping a hole in it while having the hiccups with a drunk man driving on a bumpy road .
Thank you for the kind words! I still want them to look nicer, but I haven't been rolling long and perfectos are difficult to wrap. Those look amazing.
It's awesome that you were able to get that recipe from "Nick R Agua."
Did he give you any clues about which leaf/seed those Dominican leaves are? It's interesting that he included Dominican in this blend suggestion since his new Foundation stick is a Nica puro. Was he just saying, "Try this, it's a great blend"?
I hope you are fully recovered from the VM, or fully recovering.

He asked me what leaf I had and then came up with a blend suggestion based on that. He said it's hard to make suggestions without seeing, feeling, and tasting the leaf but explained how to balance a blend by using different primings. He will be coming to my area towards the end of the year for some events and I look forward to be able to thank him in person and get his feedback on what I have done with his information.
I told him where I had purchased the leaf, wholeleaftobacco.com. I was as specific about the seed as I could be, but for the Dominican ligero and binder it doesn't say specifically. I haven't tried the blend yet, I just moved them from dry boxing to my coolerdor. I plan to fire one up tomorrow and will be sure to give some tasting notes. I will be taking them and passing some out to some guys tomorrow at a B&M and will get their feedback to share as well.
Thank you, the only mold I have is a small perfecto mold. It has been difficult to learn with and the shape is not easy to wrap but I am getting better. I will probably buckle and try one after a week or so but I can imagine that several months of age would really help the blend shine. I smoked one of the sticks I rolled last weekend today and I know you were curious how that one was. I wasn't too sure what to expect, but it caught me off guard. I got a bunch of toasted marshmallow flavors, especially at the beginning. There was also a lot of cocoa with some sweetness and earth along with hints of black licorice towards the end. It was a unique experience and I'm anxious to see how it changes over time.
Could you remind me what the recipe was for that marshmallow blend?
I think I've tasted toasted marshmallows too, but it might have been sort of an off taste from too much dampness still in the leaf, kind a rubber tire-roasted marshmallow combo...
Sure, here it is:
1/2 leaf corojo seco, 1/2 leaf Nica Habano seco, 1 leaf corojo viso, 1/2 leaf Dominican ligero, Dominican binder and PA Oscuro wrapper.
