Gdaddy got me rolling these boxpressed when he posted a picture of a mold he had made.
I followed his lead and made my own mold. I now have a box full to put away. I have found it no more difficult rolling these then rolling round cigars.
Thanks for starting me this road G.

Nick, I put the wrappers on after box pressing the bunch. I then put the cigar with wrapper back into the mold for hours to set the shape with the wrapper.
I find it just as easy to wrap a square shaped bunch as a round bunch.

Charlie, I love the box press and commend you on the ability to create your own mold, those look fantastic. I just spent the last 5 hours start to finish pumping out these "Nick Melillo blend". A few came out kinda rough and my bunch was a little short for the mold but happy to be building up stock.

Sweet, Brewin. Nice to be building up a stock of that blend.

Agreed Waikiki! I gift more of what I roll than what I smoke myself but I want to make sure I always have some on hand. A lot of people on some other forums that I am on are very interested in what I'm rolling and it helps keep me passionate about what I'm doing.

I rolled my 4th and 5th cigars yesterday afternoon and I too am having the "bunch was a little short for the mold" issue. I left them in binder in the mold though, so depending on how they look and draw this afternoon I will either wrap them or open them back up and fix them. I'm not sure if I am just bunching less or binding tighter, but I do know that the last was too tight and difficult to draw.

Rolled these last night in a single marathon session while my wife and son were out of the house. I made most of them too large again. I was focusing more on the leaf rations that came in the kit rather than proper size. I think a mold will be helpful to that end. Has anyone ordered the 50 RG from WLT. He still has used ones in stock and I'm thinking about going with one of them. Curious as to the condition of the used molds. Probably better than I'll be able to tell for my use.

Here's the best one of the bunch. One day I'll have a whole batch that looks like this, I hope!

Thanks to everyone else for posting your sticks. It's very inspiring to see what everyone else creates and fun to see the progress others make as well.

I don't think that's much of an issue on a standard parejo mold, but with a perfecto mold it definitely is problematic for aesthetics. I'm sure they will smoke well, they just aren't as pretty as they could be.

The cigar in the last photo looks professional. If you roll and smoke one at a time, you will learn faster.

Bob

I bet you're right on that Bob. I have troubles finding the time to roll, but maybe just rolling one or two at a time would be a short enough rolling session to be able to fit more of them in. I'll give it a shot anyway! Thanks for the recomendation.

Well I rolled one and smoked it, then rolled two and smoked both of them. Saturday I rolled two more through binder, then wrapped them yesterday afternoon. Smoked one last night while grilling and the other is in the humidor. So I'm kinda rolling one at a time :)

I did check the draw on these before I wrapped them since my third cigar was so tight that you could barely smoke it, but both of these drew fine. And the one I smoked was just fantastic last night! I really really like the Terroso Profundo blend! I did not bother to cap these, since I am working on getting the bunch right. Both of these were a little bit small for my 3/4" mold.

Awesome thanks, I will have to try that!
