Pretty proud of this one for multiple reasons. This is the first blend I have felt good enough to roll large batches as gifts. So naturally, I made bands which is a helluva lot of fun actually. Possibilities are limitless but the inspiration for this one is that my fictitious cigar company is called "Old Souls Cigar" and I would feature historic figures for different blends, think Foundation Cigar but less inspired and more trashy. Ha. Anyway when I passed a couple samples of these sticks out to test my good friend told me "that one is killer, keeper for sure" hence "The Killer" and my father always had a fascination for the legend. I haven't rolled in awhile so the heads are kinda rough but hopefully I can tighten up on the next couple batches. Now they are hanging out in a dry box for awhile. Here are the stats.
W- Criollo 98: WLT
B- Sumatra: WLT
F- Criollo 98 Seco 1/2: Homegrown 2024
Criollo 98 Viso 1/2: Homegrown 2024
Esteli Seco 1: OL
Corojo Viso 1/2: WLT
ASP Nicaragua Ligero: 1
You will wanna sit down for this one.

A problem with using my attic as a kiln is that once the sky clouds over it shuts off the heat. I went up earlier this week to check for mold and pop the top on the tub. A long leaf of Little Dutch seco caught my eye so I used it to bind 1 part Glessnor with 1 part Comstock Spanish. I sampled a 1/2" of the head I trimmed off yesterday. This morning I wrapped it in WLT Sumatra binder. I'll smoke it tonight.

I switched to Elmer's for glue. I'm not going back. After my kid finished elementary school I have enough to last until I retire. It has no taste, it dries clear, and it doesn't mold like pectin would.

Been chuggin along here! Now that the temps got nicer out, more and more on the “to do list”. However, still doing something every day with tobacco! Just finished up a batch of 50 sticks. 10x 43 rng. 10x 44rng. 30x 50rng.

Wrapper: Habano ‘92
Binder: Dominican
Filler: 3 parts Nicaraguan, 1 part Dominican, 1 part Pennsylvania. IMG_6075.jpegIMG_6077.jpeg

Thanks @WillQuantrill ! Greatly appreciate it brother! The name he put to the blend is “Laugh Now, Cry Later”. The condensed backstory is that the blend will be so good now that you Laugh out of enjoyment. Cry Later is when you run out of em. Lol. I always like hearing what names people come up with and then the back story it behind it. If it means something to them, then awesome! I’m not one to judge.

Received my latest order from WLT yesterday, they included a couple of samples, Nicaragua esteli viso and Habano 2000 wrapper, I combined those with Dominican binder to come up with these. Hoping for a nice mild smoke, I have to report back in a month or so after these have set in the humidor for a short while. Thanks WLT

I really need to get a 3d printer or a table top cnc router so I can make molds and maybe even a box presss or two…I’m getting better at rolling imo (this is stick number 8) but I’m ready for some uniformity and aesthetically pleasing cigars!

Dominican olor seco and PA viso filler, dark Ecuadorian binder with a Nicaraguan shade wrapper:
