I weigh out my filler when working with a mold, yields very consistent draws. Like you said, the doll wants to just pop into the mold, not laid nor jammed in. It's a feel kinda thing, but when you get the feel it goes very fast.

While waiting on some wrapper and binder to case up, here's no. 250

Outstanding sir! That cap!

Edit: Crazy how caps come to impress you. Lol. Awesome rolling job brother! Nice line cuts. Getting those suckers straight can be a pain sometimes!

Thanks. The cap is where the eye goes, so it's nice to have some fine lines there. Have 3 of @waikikigun's rolls here that I can't smoke until I ship his casquillos out (my shop is still without power, but they say it'll be domani of course), you should see the gorgeous caps on those.

Noticed he starts the flag almost at the start of the curve of the head on a parejo and copied the technique: it sure does make a pretty cap

As I was cutting the painstakingly applied cap from this cigar I rolled and wrapped today, which I planned to smoke today, I had to ask myself why I bother with it. At least when I’m going to smoke the thing right away. After a moments reflection I came to the conclusion that snipping off the cap before smoking is a pleasure to me, and part of my ‘ritual’ when it comes to enjoying tobacco in this form. Or maybe, because I am posting pictures of it here, deep down it is just vanity. :) Either way, I don’t think I’ll change my habits any time soon.

Awesome roll there @Snowblithe! I agree with the whole cap ordeal. If it’s going to be clipped, why bother. It’s definitely a ritual, amongst other things that feed into that initial snip and light. I like to skip, cold draw, toast, and swirl around some of my drink before going in for the “in it to win it light”. Lol

I wonder what other rituals are out there?

Somewhere around here, I have a picture of Davidoff holding a cedar split for a beautiful woman to light a cigar. It's a great photo. This will have to do for now

I do caps for the art of it. Knowing they get cut off in the end is part of the beauty

Now you've done it! I've just locked that cobwebby "pics of your sticks 2021" thread. This post is now the 3rd in a row with no pic.

Bob
Here are a couple of pics of my first-ever roll.
I know, I know, I know what you’re going to respond.
“Dug, how did you possibly roll such a perfect, classically shaped, gorgeous cigar on your first attempt?!!!”
It’s because of my incredibly high blood-testosterone level.
And, given there is a substantial quantity of Saint James Perique in the filler,
- it smoked just as manly as it looks.
