May be the Nostrano del Brenta leafs are not so suitable as wrappers because their bump and big veins?
Nostrano is a
wonderful wrapper. It is also a thick leaf--always. I would not be at all concerned about the thick veins. That's just how Nostrano is. Like CT Broadleaf, it does require a somewhat longer time to rehydrate fully, but it does not have quite as much stretch. So you will have to be gentle. Rehydrate the Nostrano until it can be stretched enough to straighten its veins. With a trimmed outer edge, trim the inner edge of the wrapper strip to a width of 10 cm (~2"). Maintain a gentle stretch as you roll.
Filler should be in
low case. It's about the draw, not the appearance.
If you want shiny, factory-looking cigars, then use a different wrapper. If you want delicious, Nostrano-wrapped cigars, then you are on the right path.
