Shades of Rosado!
Remind me to send you one of my spare fur trapper's hats. To help you survive the frost, ya know.Humidor is starting to get a little empty, so I rolled a few cigars last night; a mix of WLT and BB and some home grown Havana. This batch was free handed with no molds and finished with pigtails.
Summer has definitely come to central Texas - we had a high of 98 F yesterday, so I waited until it dropped to a chilly 86 F at 10:30 pm to try one out. I decided to tail gate to get a better breeze. A very enjoyable time: nice cigar, warm breeze, cold soda, and the stars.

You had me at BBQ, but then you took it to the next level with Off.98 F and I’m BBQ’ing chicken for dinner. Cole slaw and potato salad are chilling in the fridge. I’m fortified against the elements with Off, a home rolled cigar, and a home brewed ice cold lager.

Cuban cigars have a unique, identifiable character (I can't describe it) .
Last few years I get a unique spicy, creamy, slightly Mexican chocolatey kind of thing for which I really lack the vocab. No hay, no crap. Other than the "Holy crap" I gut from guys when I blind taste-test them on a Cuban I really like. I reckon this is why I think 5000-word descriptions of the taste experience of a given reviewer for a given cigar is not that useful. One guy tastes hay crap, the next guy tastes cinnamon cream on the same stick.I feel they have a "barn yard" manure and hay aroma. Also lite on the Nic. Would it be out of context to say they taste like crap? But you know, in a good way!
Is this due to the tobacco still containing higher amounts of ammonia? What aids to the "barnyard" aroma?
Every legitimate Cuban cigar that I've smoked over the last 50 years has had a robust level of nicotine. Also lite on the Nic.
Why not eh? My first post in this thread is a no glue, pigtail cigarillo made up of DR Olor and Criollo lugsThar's Gold in Them Thar Little Yeller Trash Piles

I was surprised. A bit damp / needed a few relights. Reminded me of a Hamlet / Cafe Creme. Tasted like a mild cigar. Did not taste of straw / Hay / harsh / ass.
First smoke of my homegrown.
It was good.
Heh
Manure simply enriches the soil structure and releases back the nutrients (NPK) to the plants overtime. If it transferred taste to the leaf there’s a good chance that my tomatoes too would taste like poop lol.Isn't manure used to fertilize regularly and wouldn't it transfer to the leaf?
There is no barnyard in legit Cubans, plenty of vitamin N, and exquisite flavor to boot. I still remember the first time I had one many moons ago. Most cubans sold worldwide are counterfeit, especially in the Americas. The genuine articles are sublime.I feel they have a "barn yard" manure and hay aroma. Also lite on the Nic. Would it be out of context to say they taste like crap? But you know, in a good way!
