This is another stick using the sample Banda Seca Nicaragua Habano as a wrapper. Binder is a double Cameroon from WLT. The filler is half sample Nicaragua Habano Seca Grande, and half home-grown 2018 Corojo 99. I managed to miss a wrinkle in the wrapper, down by the foot, but it burned just fine anyway.

My Corojo 99, probably a "mid" leaf, is milder than the Nicaragua seco leaf. So this cigar comes out just a shade under medium-strength nicotine, and smoother than those I've made with unalloyed Nicaragua seco.

So how did it turn out? Looks great!
Considering that it only had 12 hours on it, was very thick and had three different kinds of ligero in it, I'd say it was a bit young and raw. It would need 3 months drying time minimum for me to know whether it really succeeded or not: but all that considered I thought it was pretty good and I nubbed it.

Result: just a touch loose on the draw, slightly on the dry side (was out of the humidor for too long today), great burn. Solid mild/medium cigar. Complex but not heavy, the sumatra wrapper really changes this blend up. Like it, but the shorter it gets, the more it should've had a corojo wrapper on it.

I'll have Jeeves make the necessary changes.

First roll with the Mexican SA Wrapper, sorry for back to back posts, just was excited this turned out how it did, Still feels a tad soft think I need to add a bit more filler to the next one.

Today I tried rolling a cigarillo (38x3.5?) using two pieces of lamina from between the lateral veins as binder and wrapper. Way less binder and wrapper than my usual stogies, but the same amount of filler as the 44x4’s I usually roll.

It worked ok, but I’d leave out the Ligero next time. Not enough mild leaf on the outside to mellow it out, I suppose.

Efficient use of my wrapper stash, I guess.
