Thanks webmost and Bob.
I´ll try this later on when i´m back home, right now i´m on vacation in the Canary Island whit my wife and a box of homemade cigars. In Sweden it´s impossible to smoke outside, temp is about 10 degrees F (light it up indoors is not an option) so this is my chance to try them before spring or freezing my butt of.
Last night i tried the first one of WLT´s blend Asucarodo and i must say i´m very pleased whit the result.

Well New Years eve isn't what it usto be when I went out to parties. So I got to work tonight on my first few tries at a barber pole wrapper ( I think that's what you call it ) I used what I had on hand which is Ecuador maduro and Crillio wrappers.
The blend is 2-Piloto Seco, 1-Criollo Ligero, 1 Crillio Seco, 1/2 Meta Fina, and Dom binder. If my memory is correct, it's an age thing anymore.
I think they came out decent, taste and wrapping both. But I hope to get a lighter contrasting leaf for this style in the future.
I also need to get better at taking pictures. The flash brought out the color in the one picture.

Grab some Canary Island tobacco seed if at all possible. The Canary Islands were on the direct trade route back in the old days and the majority of tobacco there is good old original Cuban seed. I've grown Hacienda del Cura and La Palma Havana from the Canaries. Both of them excellent Cuban style tobaccos. We can do some serious seed swapping.

All the old barber shops rolled their cigars like that and hung them outside to draw business. ROFL. That's BS. I couldn't help it.

They came out wonderfully. In my mind they typify the genre. Great job. Ten plus.

Is a double wrapper. Two identical wrapper leaves, in contrasting color, layer on top of each other before rolling. The amount of offset determines the width of the "stripes".

thanks DGBAMA..I thought thats how it was done..looks kinda cool.just image how smoking and hitting the two different wrappers back-in-fourth should make for different/interesting smoke. reminds me of my favorite popsicle as a child had three different colors.red/white/blue flavors

Those are some meaty cigars. When I roll one that fat, I have to gradually taper the head down to about 48 rg. The positive aspect of a densely rolled, large ring cigar is the full explosion of smoke and flavor. For me, the larger the cigar, the milder (lower nicotine, i.e. less ligero or viso) the tobacco blend has to be.

CORoller they look great for 13-15 those wrappers look tasty to. Nice job. Keep it up and enjoy.

Marc, one of the sticks is a double wrapper which I found tough to do as I couldn't see threw one wrapper to trim the other just right. The others I did were done with an over lay strip.
If I wanted to add a more flavor to the cigars I would use the whole leaf over lay. But was just passing time as there was nothing on the tube and was bored.
