I've been having some problems lately with my rolling. I have been rolling to tight and getting some bad draws when smoking them. The burn is great but just bad draws.

It could be from the end that goes into your mouth. It has a tendency to slow the draw, because the leaves tend to get bunched tighter during the binder and wrapper. I usually break some of that off and put it toward the foot. Hope this helps?

It happens off and on to me, and that usually corrects it.

First three rolled: Wanted to get the first few under my belt; this is my very first effort and they are butt ugly. They were rolled with crappy tobacco from another source, with no wrapper and no mold. The top two was rolled entubado and the bottom book style. I used the newspaper strip method. I was not totally displeased with my first effort and hope to get better. Next for me is many many more practice cigars, better tobacco, get a mold(s), learn to roller wrapper ect ect ect.
Any suggestions, critiques welcome

Don

They all look very smoke-able.Think the middle one is my favorite.

On the molds. I started with 3/4' PVC pipe cut in half and used hose clamps on them. Was perfect for starters.
You don't get the round head from it, but to me that's more cosmetic.
I did finally purchase a mold from WholeLeaf. It was one of the used plastic ones. Works perfectly.

Very nice! Please consider using paper towels instead of newspaper. I still do some like that, but with a paper towel sheet folded in half, one corner tucked at a 45* angle, and roll like a leaf ( on the smooth side of the paper towel of course).

You're off to a good start!

I think they look great for your first go at it. They look nicely round and no bends. They would be great with wrappers.
But as any roller on here will tell you, it's all in the flavor when smoked. If you like them they are great cigars.
Keep rolling and enjoying your work.

Just smoked No 1 at the top. Burned straight and no re-lights. That was my first and I paid no attention to anything like a blend; they were made from a bag of scraps I got from Leaf Only. I used some dark thick tobacco from the bag that may have been some type of ligero because it gave me quite a buzz, more than any of the Connies I usually smoke. All in all I was pleased with it and look forward to smoking later ones with some type of a structured blend.

Guess I should say what they are.
Filler: WLT sampler, Dom Seco, Habano Viso, Dom Liguero

Binder, Havanah
Wrapper, Crillo Black

Binder and wrapper are from my grow.

I also like the red brown color of the Crillo wrapper.
