If my eyes keep getting worse . I may need a bigger key board .

It does look similar doesn't it . I made it more after my Lieberman style that I make .
I have thought about making the mat adjustable . I need to have some sit down and think time on it .
I thought about Velcro sewn in one end of the mat . I don't believe it would hold .

I was getting that way. Then I had the cataract surgery, couple weeks ago; first one eye, then the other. It's a ten minute miracle. Absolute world of difference.

Well, I'm no MarcL but here are the last dozen sticks I rolled Sunday evening. The long, skinny one on the left is my best looking stick to date and I'm real proud of it.

Not bad at all! Do you know about stretching out the leaf with water on either granite or ceramic tile? I have extra 18" X 18" tiles here.

Thank you for the praise Dave! You definitely motivate me to continue to work on improving. I have been using a metal baking sheet flipped upside down but imagine tile would work better. I probably need to bring my wrapper up to a higher case to get a better stretch. If you have spare tile I would love to work something out and maybe watch you wrap a couple to try and pick up some tricks.

Just wondering, probably wouldn't work, but has anyone ever tried using one of those homemade pasta machines for running their wrapper through? If you don't know what they are, they remind you of a table top wringer type device, similar to what is on the old time washing machines. Anyway, I watched my grandmother use one and it flattens out the dough and is adjustable. Just was wondering if you could adjust it properly and run a wrapper through without tearing it up. Anyone ever try it?

Yes have used the pasta roller many times to flatten veins on thicker leaves. I just use a thin plastic sheet to slide behind the leaf as it goes through the rollers. It works pretty good as long as the rollers are close enough. BrewinHooligan the cigars are coming along and looking great.

Getting the stretch on the wrapper down and getting better with the caps. Used up all my criollo ligero and don't have much corojo seco left but just got 3 more lbs of new fillers in, just hoping I like them as well as what I've been using.

They're looking better, and it's only been a week or so? Good job! BTW, what type of filler did you get?

Dave, Thank you! I got in Dominican ligero, corojo viso, and Nicaraguan habano seco. Webmost, those are wrapped in pa Oscuro from WLT, towards the bottom of the leaf it lightens up in color quite a bit.

I'll have to try some of that. I like the toasty taste of that PA broadleaf. Should make a good string flexible wrapper.

Hey All,
I tried my hand at rolling my first 2 sticks. They are a bit rough looking because I put them in the mold after the wrapper was applied.

I tried my hand at 8 more sticks, but I didn't have a way to flatten veins, I have a roller now.
I did get 1 nice stick out of the batch that I am proud to display.

So far it is my favorite wrapper leaf. It is strong and stretches really well and also tastes great!

As long as they taste good is really all that matters. Are you making sure the veins of the tobacco are running parallel with the length of the cigar when you roll it? That should be considered when rolling both binder and wrapper.
Do you use a cigar mold/press?

I never found the roller to be worth the effort.
