Nothing like a stick with a little age on it.

At 18 days, its aged almost 17 days longer than most of my smokes!
Looks like a nice cigar to go with that nice weather.

It's about two weeks longer than most of mine lately, since my surplus went down to zero.Yeah, was some nice sun yesterday. Supposed to be some rain next week tho. And I don't have any indoor smoking places. Good chance to build up that surplus.

..so many questions. are those your first with the binding machine? did you bolt it down?, will you change the mat? ..well maybe not so many questions.
I would call these the first official roll. Last week I did two short filler Coronas, but these are all whole leaf. I screwed it down on 2x2 board I use as my mobile rolling station. I will change the mat when it rips, but as of now it seems to be in good condition, which is surprising to me for being almost 100 years old. This was the roller you found on eBay, thanks again!
And does the USB cable have to be plugged into a charger while you're bunching?

Bob

Yeah I may have to call tech support, it doesn’t look like this model supports usb, I’m pretty disappointed.

Had to smoke one today, chose the shortest one. Very intense on the pepper/ spice with a long finish. Great burn, the Indonesian tobacco is like tissue paper. I’m hoping these will settle down with a few weeks rest. Nice bold flavors.

Based on that ash, looks like you did a hella good job rolling that puppy. Nice one.

Thanks, the ash fell off with a nice “thud”. The machine definitely helped me get a nice even pack. My free rolls tend to be good overall, but usually have soft or lumpy spots. The roller is definitely my new set of training wheels.

Yup, that molds from eBay. Welcome to the forum!
Thank you! I believe we purchased from the same dealer. Mine has several cracks and and the two sides do not mate well with each other leaving fairly large lines even when rotated quarterly. Do you have any of the same problems with yours?

Mine does have a few cracks, but nothing that worries me. As far as seems go, if I just stuff a cigar in it and forget, I do get noticeable seems. To combat this I do 4 things.

1. Less filler
2. Rotate the cigar 2-3 times in the first 30 minutes of pressing.
3. Use a plastic sheet to “tuck” the edge in the mold.
4. Roll the unwrapped cigar on a board to flatten the edges.

Since I only make a few cigars at a time, these things don’t bother me. However, if I were making dozens a day, I would probably get a plastic mold.

So yes, mine does have flaws , but I’ve found a work around that works for me.

Hopefully yours is at least usable.

Some additional things to help with imperfect molds.
Rotating the dolls throughout the mold cavities.
Early rotating, especially in wood because of the faster drying time. As early as 1-2 minutes for the first 1-3 rotations.

That maduro looks great, is that the stuff from WLT? I just ordered some and the Coro Oscuro. Btw does anyone know why it’s called corojo Oscuro? I always thought Oscuro was darker than maduro, like jet black.
