My Cigars consist of one part [h=1]Cibao Valley Vuelta Abajo Habano Ligero[/h] One part [h=1]Cibao Valley Corojo Viso[/h] One part [h=1]Cibao Valley Vuelta Abajo Habano Seco[/h] Pennsylvania binder and [h=1]Criollo 98 Wrapper[/h]
I roll them about 8 to 10 inches long and then cut them in half for shorter smokes.
I roll 4 or 5 Cigars a day. Half of them I smoke the other half going to humidor .

Very nice. They look to be about 50ring. I like 48-50. Used to smoke cigars all the time. Then switched to a pipe but lately I've been gathering cigar leaf. All these folks here on site rolling cigars have me interested in giving it a try. I like your idea if rolling a 10" and halfing it. I always did like the shorter cigars. They don't require a lot of time to smoke. Thanks for sharing your lot.

Now The Gloves Are Off!

Garden20180305_3428_cigar_glovesAreOff_600.jpg

One of my brothers recently received from me a birthday gift. For several weeks, I had rolled two cigars daily, and set them aside in my humidor. These were not my usual, slapped together stogies. These were thoughtfully blended, carefully molded, dutifully glued and meticulously wrapped double-coronas. They contained some of the finest cigar leaf on the planet.

tried one of your cigars little mild but burned good after i let it go out few times better flavor
As I pondered the wording of a deeply offended rejoinder, a better idea came to me. I walked over to my wide selection of cigar leaf, and picked out a pair of leaves from each and every ligero that I have. Since this unnamed brother swears that he doesn't like "maduro", I stuck with a Criollo 98 wrapper as a disguise.

This was too much filler for two cigars, but I forged ahead anyway. I would puke half-way through one of these beasts, if I were foolish enough to light one up. I'll be mailing them off to my more courageous sibling...as a special birthday bonus.

If I were forced to give a name to these, it would be something like one of the following:
  • Neural Overload
  • Toxicology Result
  • Primary Cause
  • Colonoscopy Prep
  • Unfortunate Combination
  • Gloves are Off!

Tried out my homemade box press this weekend and had my first rolling session. Not too bad for a first try I guess.

Made some dominican puros last night, no wrapper, just binder wrapped. They have amazing flavor just with the binder.

The top 4 in the picture I threw in the mold to shape them. The bottom one was packed pretty well already so I skipped the mold on it.

Mamma mia ! (that's how I would name these)

That's some awesome big cigars ! If your "unnamed brother" still find this mild, nothing will satisfy him :D

I'm just starting to roll with Connecticut Shade. It is wonderfully thin a stretchy. One thing I've noticed, however, is that it seems to "bruise" or "burnish" on high points when the finished stick is rolled on the table to smooth it. This results in dark marks that correspond with veins or any raised feature on the surface of the cigar. Is there a way to avoid this?

I have a twin-pronged approach that solves this for me: 1) No wet/moist wrapper. Case it in such a way that's stretchy yet totally dry, what I call "fluffy." Takes about 1 day of very light misting and bagging. 2) Very clean rolling board: any tobacco/tar residues the thing picks up at the veins will show on that leaf whereas not so much on brown leaves.
